Rent My Viper HPDE Track Day Experience

“High Performance Driver Education” is a great way to get instruction and track time within a group of your peers.  It doesn’t matter if this is your first track day or you are a seasoned track enthusiast. HPDE events feature multiple skill level run groups for you and up to 1 other participant. This particular HPDE event is run by National Auto Sport Association (NASA).  They offer an amazing HPDE track experience with some of the best instructors around.

An HPDE track day event is usually 6-8 hours.  There are typically 5 driving sessions, 20 minutes each.  Participants start with some classroom/chalkboard time to understand the course.  We do a driver assessment to understand your skill level and what track disciplines to focus on.

Before hitting the live track we will give you an operational orientation of the Viper so you know where the controls are.  We tend to start the track sessions with the participants taking a few ride along laps in the passenger seat to see the track and know where the corners are.  Next, we will shift to lead/follow where participants will follow a lead car on the track to start understanding where the race line is and get a feel for how the Viper responds on the track.  Depending on the driver’s skill level we can continue with lead/follow and pick up speed or transition to the participant taking lead and allowing the instructor to monitor your race line from behind.

After each session is a great time to recap on what areas of the track the driver is handling well and which areas need some improvement.  If your skill level improves throughout the day we can reassess the drivers for solo track time.  Every driver is able to go at their own pace with instruction, after all it is driver education!

Dates and Availability:

Rent My Viper HPDE Track Days are dependent on NASA run group availability for the event.  It is recommended that you book with Rent My Viper prior to NASA event registration opening to ensure a spot in your particular run group.  Rent My Viper will book the corresponding run group with NASA.  Beginner run groups tend to fill up the fastest so please keep that in mind.  NASA typically opens registration 30-45 days prior to the event date.
